Get Started

Starting therapy can feel like a big step especially if you’re unsure what to expect or whether it’s the right time. This process is designed to be straightforward and paced in a way that feels manageable. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

What to expect?

Step 1: Schedule a Consultation

You’ll start by scheduling a 30-Minute FREE consultation call. This is a chance to briefly discuss what’s bringing you in, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.

Step 2: Initial Session

In the first session, we’ll take a closer look at your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to change or understand. This helps us begin identifying patterns and setting direction for the work.

Step 3: Ongoing Therapy

From there, sessions focus on helping you understand and shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck. Whether that’s anxiety, relational stress, or internal pressure. The pace is collaborative and adjusted based on what’s most helpful for you.

Insurance

If you plan to use insurance, we can review your benefits together and help you understand what your plan covers.

I am currently in-network with

  • TexasBlue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Medicare, Optum, UnitedHealthcare and Aetna.

  • OregonModa, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Providence, Regence, Cigna, and Aetna.

Because coverage varies from plan to plan, it’s helpful to check a few key details with your insurance provider before starting. You can usually find this information by calling the number on the back of your insurance card or logging into your online member portal.

When you contact them, you can ask:

  • Do I have mental health or outpatient therapy benefits?

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is my copay or coinsurance for therapy sessions?

  • Are there limits to how many sessions are covered per year?

  • Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

If I am in-network with your plan, your sessions will typically be billed directly through your insurance, and you would be responsible for any copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

If I am out-of-network with your specific plan, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary, so it can be helpful to ask your provider about out-of-network benefits as well.

If you’re unsure where to start, we can also go over this briefly during your consultation so you have a clearer understanding of your options.

Private Pay

Some clients choose to pay privately for greater flexibility and privacy in their care. Private pay allows us to focus fully on your goals without the requirements or limitations often associated with insurance, such as diagnoses, session limits, or restrictions on the direction of therapy.

My standard rates are $125 for individual therapy sessions and $150 for couples counseling. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for those who may need a reduced rate due to financial circumstances. If cost is a concern, we can discuss options during your consultation to determine what may be feasible.

The goal is to make therapy accessible while maintaining a structure that supports consistent and meaningful work.
